Legion Plans Midnight Revue for Christmas Party Fund

Harwood American Legion post will sponsor a Midnight Revue to raise funds for the annual Christmas party for needy township children. The show, a professional stage production with first class talent, will be held next Wednesday at the Rialto theatre with Legionnaires canvassing town for tickets.

G men capture trio in Ottawa chase

In Ottawa late yesterday a Canadian mounted police sergeant with G men arrested three men linked to the John S Labatt kidnapping. Russell Knowles Herman Kierdorff and Herman Herbst were seized after a hotel pursuit with no shots fired. Herbst faces concealed weapons charges and bonds were set at 5000 while Labatt’s 1954 kidnaping near London Ontario ended without ransom.

Golden Gloves Entries to Exceed Previous Tourneys

The fifth edition of the Spec Tator Chicago Tribune Golden Gloves tournament will be held at Catholic High School gymnasium January 27 28 with finals February 3. Officials expect record entrants and may stage eliminations in neighboring towns to send winners to the district.
