The company bought Hardscrabble on Lookout Mountain and operates a 40 ton smelter running 15 hours weekly. galena ore carries high lead and 360 ounces silver per ton.

The advent of the railroad to Goldfield wrecked the auto line between Tonopah and Goldfield. Over 9,000 passengers have crossed the desert, with 150 daily in summer. Drivers earned up to 100 dollars monthly. 35 were laid off last week. Cars cost 1200 to 6500 dollars, rebuilt at Tonopah for desert travel. Jordan expected back from Maine today.
