A roundup of local items includes a Mackay theft case where Frank Clements alias French Pete faced a preliminary hearing after attempting to ship 30 horses without proper bills of sale. The stock belonged to Pyke & Miller of Dubois and others in Medicine Lodge, with ten horses sold to Mr Ivy before Clements was bound over to district court. Custer County Treasurer Notice of Warrants Payment

The county treasurer announces payment of current warrants and road and bridge fund warrants. Warrants issued January 18 1904 Nos 257 to 296 and April 14 1906 Nos 7 to 13. July 24 1905 issue Nos 41 to 46 accrue interest to date of registry and must be presented within ten days to receive interest. Dated October 10 1905.

Sudden Death Here Of Tacoma Miner Crandal

Mr. 8 G Crandal a Tacoma mining and business man well known in the Northwest died suddenly at Colvin bridge on Wednesday Oct 4 at 3 30 p m from hemorrhage of the lungs He was talking with Mr Olmstead of New York about mines when he collapsed The remains were brought to Challis that evening and shipped to Tacoma Friday morning His death ends a week of illness though not from that illness He was connected with the Mallen group on Custer Mountain and had hoped to move his family to Challis

Autumn leaves fall and Challis visits noted in Idaho CityWorld

Mrs Huston’s sister and brother visited Challis Saturday evening. Wm H and Alice Felkner returned from the Portland Fair. Billy Gill of Pahsamaroi toured Challis. Attorney Lamme’s mother leaves for Nebraska. L L Baldwin surveyor and others arrived from Boise en route to Robinson Bar on Salmon River. Baldwin to survey two placer ditches. Bunch brothers locate land four miles above Robinson Bar to Clayton, 22 miles. They secure three fourths interest in Robinson Bar placers and bond on K D Williams’ one fourth. Two ditches to bring water. one mile and a half mile long. They prospect Salmon river bed for dredging potential. County Commissioners met in regular session.
