Greyhound Smelter Plans Outlined For Seafoam District Mine
Stephen M. Smith, promoter of the Greyhound mine in Custer county, reports that ore tested at the Seafoam district smelts on site with 97 percent lead and 700 ounces per ton silver. Next spring a concentrator and rock crusher will be installed to improve lead content and reduce silica, enabling full operation and loading ore directly into the furnace. The road to Float creek mouth will be built next spring with state aid covering half the cost.
