Italian Pioneer Joseph Cereghino Dies in Idaho

Joseph Cereghino, longtime Custer county resident, died October 21 in Bonanza Idaho at age about 57 after a long lung illness. An Italian native who came to America 40 years ago he lived in California and Utah before moving to Yankee Fork in 1879. He leaves three sisters in Italy and cousins in San Francisco. His body was buried November 1 at the Bonanza cemetery.

San Francisco Idaho and Montana Railway Project Announced

William P. Mason announces New York financing for the first 210 miles of the SF I M Railway. Construction by Railroad Construction Co to start near the Snake River and Caldwell within 60 days, finish by January 1, 1907, at an estimated cost of 2.5 million dollars. The line runs from Snake River valley to Winnemucca Nevada linking with Southern Pacific, enhancing access to San Francisco. The route passes through irrigation development where 15 million is being invested, with ties and timber sourced locally and steel to follow.
