Parker Mountain rich ore camp spurs mining rush near Challis
Parker Mountain district about 25 miles northwest of Challis sits on Warm Springs creek. Named for Alton B. Parker, the camp gained prominence via Edwin Williams and W. W. Adamson who located the Parker mine, with the Ed Williams property adjoining. High grade ore commands thousands of dollars per ton. last fall Ed Williams shipped ore to Salt Lake valued at 871.49 from 268 pounds, including a single 87 pound sack at 56.55. A new 10 ton mill at Parker promises activity this spring as the area remains largely unprospected.
