Idaho Free Press reports a remarkable molybdenite discovery along the south fork of the Salmon River near Frank miths ranch fourteen miles from Warren. William Bonner Ira McGary and L J Phelan claim a ledge 35 feet wide extends 7500 feet, with hundreds of tons of ore valued at 5500 per ton.
Secretary M E Lew of the State Wagon Road Commission writes Miron A Brown Challis Idaho confirming travel plans. They will depart around July 10 heading to Salmon City with a stop in Stanley Basin and an audience with the Governor if possible. Only Wheeler and Lew will make the Salmon trip and Lew offers to phone from Salmon to finalize dates from Moscow.
Daniel Webster’s final hours are recalled as he tells John Adams he is not well. He likens his life to a damaged house, with a leaking roof and creaking doors, noting the landlord refuses to repair. The exchange highlights the statesman’s resignation and grim humor in deathbed words.
