Local brief notes Miss Mildred Gayle visiting in Los Angeles. Other items mention Dr Kelley called to Chil ly for Mrs Radford illness and Dr Good promoting dental work in Challis. Assessor Burnett has collected over 60000 in taxes in Custer county.
Forest Service employee Allan Williams, stationed at Loon Creek, left Jan 4 with the Lost Packer team for Sunbeam and did not return. A search found the team at Loon Creek summit stable. Williams may have attempted Sunbeam on snowshoes as snow was sliding. A later report says he was caught but uninjured, climbed a tree, and returned to Sunbeam.
Snowy weather slows school attendance while sleighs run daily to the upper country. Miss Minnie Germer and brother Walter plan coast travel for a bookkeeper job. Miss Lucy Stevens to marry Mr Peel of East Park. Old resident Mr Clark dies at Lost River. Commissioner actions include road overseer appointment, printing contract, and hospital bids. An old ordinance requires all persons and firms in Challis Idaho to obtain a quarterly business license. It classifies businesses from A to E with fees from 12.50 to 4.00 per quarter and sets penalties up to 100 dollars for operating without a license. Passed January 1, 1912, by Chairman Kerr with Clerk Glennon attesting.
Sealed bids will be received by the Challis Independent School District No. 1 Board for furnishing and delivering 25 cords of four foot fir wood cut green and seasoned to the Challis schoolhouse Idaho. Bids must be filed with the district clerk by January 25 1413 at 2 PM. The board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Financial report of the Custer Co Fair Association shows receipts 1021.80 expenditures 886.48 balance 134.32 with outstanding checks 1.50 and net cash to July Fund 34.03. Dated January 6 with officers listed.
Notice to file grazing permit applications for cattle barges and sheep in Challis National Forest for the season of Tur. Applications must be filed in Challis Idaho by March 1, 1812. Information on grazing fees and blank forms available on request from David Laing Superintendent.

She invites honest respect and requests correspondence through A E L P O Box 33 Toledo Ohio. Also reports stockholders meeting at The First National Bank of Challis with 316 votes and new officers including D C Smuts president and D B Drake vice president.
Notice of warrants to be paid within 60 days includes current expense and broad warrants. Listed are current expense warrants 99 through 305 and broad warrants 45 through 80. School district warrants No 1 and Nos 259 to 262 from Oct 1911 issue, Nos 299 to 311 from Nov 1911, and Nos 355 to 865 from Dec 14 1911 issue.
