New County Officers Take Oath in Challis

The Custer county officers were sworn in yesterday for a two year term. State Senator James Hooper and others including Ralph W. Os born, Donaldson Bowles, Carl ie Lane, George E. Keyes, Jesse G. Finnell, Richmond N. Hull, Margaret Keenan, Leon E. Calhoun and three county commissioners were installed by J. C. Dougherty. The new board met in Challis, with many local officials listed and notes of recent arrivals and travel conditions.

Commissioners H H Knapp and W J Treloar order steps to recover county funds from C Bunting & Co bank. They authorize commissioner to employ counsel, cover travel to Blackfoot or Boise, pay per diem, and have Treasurer Spalding consult with the attorney to prepare facts for an action. Board adjourned without Keyes.

Yellow Jacket camp busy with 15 men at work

Harry Armstead of the C C Co arrived on the 30th and set all hands to work. The mail route shifted to Singiser with bids for a three times weekly Forney to Yellow Jacket service. Isgiser Mugge notes steady work in the shaft with water soaked and ore in the face while Jim Madison treks to Salmon as his dog wakes the night shift.
