The ranch cost about $500000 four years ago and sold for around $1,000,000 plus 25 000 cattle priced from 12 50 to 35 per head. The property spans vast distances encircling the globe with 500 miles of fencing and extensive cultivation.

Samuel Anderson known as Sam, a Challis stage driver, disappeared after seeing a loaded team ahead on a grade. Dr. C L Kirtley reported a likely accident with ice and river depths hindering search. Anderson, 71, was born in Kentucky and had lived in Custer County 25 years. his remains likely won't be found until spring.
