It props the fastest, cheapest route to cities including Challis Bayhorse Clayton Custer Bonanza Stanley Basin Sheep Mountain Yellow Jacket with care express and freight via Blackfoot Idaho. Heber A. Word reports from Custer County on the Yankee Fork region where mining activity intensifies. Investors, prospectors, and capitalists flock to Idaho, with major mines like Seven Devils, Coeur d Alene camps, and Lucky Boy expanding. Strong ore yields, new railroad plans, and irrigation potential promise rapid growth for the state.
Prospecting and drilling work underway in Stanley Basin near Wiley Spee and James King. New England Dredging Co. owns ground. drilling will shift to Silber horn and Schlosser owned plots after prospecting. Crews plan to prospect Valley Creek and a one mile wide stretch, using medium sized colors and a 15 to 20 color yield per pan. Groundbed prospecting continues with bedrock not yet reached. holes sunk ten feet. A dredge at Fto Basin expected to begin around mid month with 500 cubic yards per day capacity.
The Lewiston Patriot describes a night encounter on the brow of the hill behind the Adams block where a man accosted a girl, resulting in a dramatic silhouette observed by Main Street bystanders. The perpetrator fled after the girl escaped, with witnesses noting his startled expression. The piece notes the kissing bug phrase appears in Challis as well.
