At Willow Creek Branch Idaho Dickey lies on the Mackay to Salmon River route as the last stopping place before mountain passes. The proprietor E. W. Bascom pledges to make the house the best traveler’s home in Central Idaho with reasonable terms.
A historical profile highlights William Buster’s meat market on Main Street Challis. Built in 1897 for George McGowan and later owned by Buster the rock structure with steel roof houses meats fruits vegetables and seeds. Buster's ventures include multiple buildings and rental income making Busterville a growing business hub.
The Chicago Western Mining World notes a spring upsurge of lode mining interest across Central Idaho. Signs point to revived activity in districts north and south of the Snake River, with Minnie Moore and White Knob mines resuming, new surface indications, and hopes for Camp Mackay and Salmon River country, despite snow delays and fording challenges.
Gra Levi Magee Grand Master of jd an official visit to Custer No 21. He was roy ally entertained by Custer No 21 Silver Leaf Rebekah No 2 and Custer Encampment No 10 with about fifty members present. A short program featured recitations and songs by local members. Magee praised the order’s growth, noting Idaho has 101 subordinate lodges and about 6,000 members. The gathering adjourned after a late banquet with flowers and Rebekah colors pink and green. Magee then left for Salmon City to meet other lodges.
Custer Jottings reports a new post office with Mrs Cheney as postmistress on Lucky Boy hill. The Lucky Boy mill has resumed operations on the 14th. Local residents visiting Custer include Thos Horton Jerry Sullivan Ralph Larter and Will Reed. Mrs Mabel Shimmin and Will Barton arrived from Utah while their mother E M Burton remains ill but improving. Frank W Hunt arrived in Custer on the 16th and plans to head to Loon creek soon.
