The 64 page 1948 Rittman City Directory is issued this week the first since 1942. It includes an alphabetical list, street directory, numerical telephone directory, and business listing with two page street map and historical sketch. It will be distributed free to Press subscribers with copies available for 1 50.

Planning Group Recommends City Planning Consultant

Youth Killed Sunday in Motorcycle Wreck
Carroll David McNutt twenty worked on Mrs Lee Amstutzs farm at Rittman was fatally injured in a motorcycle auto collision at 945 am Sunday on Route 5 near Easton. He crossed the center line into the left lane and died on arrival at Barberton hospital. His body was taken to Mt Vern on Monday.

Boy Scout Movies Shown At Lions Club Meeting
Lester Steele scoutmaster of Troop 410 presented motion pictures of troop activities for the year at the Lions club meeting Monday. The village council discussed a proposed Scout Lodge entrance with John Baldwin offering to deed land if Diagonal street is not opened. Mayor Ritter asked cooperation from property owners, while plans to extend Liberty and North streets were authorized. The vote also approved a sanitary sewer extension to Wade Rohrer’s Industrial street property and named W F Echols as night patrolman.
