Harold Reid a former Rittman boy now living at 106 Vine Street Wadsworth is scheduled for two near term heavyweight bouts. The first occurs next Saturday at the Goodyear clubhouse in Akron and the second the following Monday at the Match Factory gym in Wadsworth. Reid fights around 185 pounds while his opponents exceed 200 pounds. The promoters are Welsh and Sia era.

Wilson leaves Saturday at 6 for a ten day fishing expedition in Ontario. Accompanied by C. E. Wilson and Mr and Mrs R Lance, the group will base at Hastings and fish Rice Lake for muskelonge pickerel and black bass. The party previously fished together last year and aims for bountiful catches to delight friends on return.
Paul Plank returned to work at the Tilson Tire Shop on South Main St after a 10 day absence due to a nervous ailment. He reported for duty yesterday and seemed fully recovered from the medical episode that baffled a local attendant.
Mr and Mrs Harry Wells attended the marriage of his sister Berhice to Frank Glueck at Heights Temple Cleveland on Sunday with about 500 guests. A reception followed at the groom’s parents home on Washington Blvd. The couple will be on a northern trip and plan to be at home around October 1.

Rittman Fire Department fought a blaze in the Escovitz Economy Store when flames spread along the ceiling. Quick actions and anti-fire chemicals stopped the fire with little damage. Cause traced to abortive wiring. Calls for a regular wiring inspector in town.

Mrs Clarence Bruney entertained two tables of Euchre Tuesday evening in honor of Mr and Mrs Ed Goffinet of Pana Illinois visiting relatives the past three weeks. Sis Goffinet is a brother of Mrs Ceita Zeigler of First St.
Willis Sigler, a water tender for six years on the Ghia Salt Company's force, has resigned. He has held a first class engineer's license, which has given him a valuable edge in the trade.
Mrs F E Harter was struck by an automobile last Saturday afternoon while returning from Akron with her husband and Miss Evelyn after attending a U B Conference at Barberton. On a highway near a wayside lunch stand a car suddenly appeared, hitting her and throwing her to the pavement. She suffered a badly bruised arm and a blackened eye but escaped more serious injuries.
At about 4 o clock last Saturday afternoon two autos collided near the Yarinsa Crahdod and Smith filling station on South Main Street. A 1925 Chevrolet coach driven by a Savills man was struck after emerging from a side road. Guthrie driving south attempted to avoid the crash. The Savills driver fled the scene with front-end damage. Guthrie remained largely uninjured.
Public invited to Ninoy supper at the Presbyterian church tomorrow evening from 6:30 to 7:00. Event aims for charitable fund raising with a secret coin variety and lively entertainment featuring good will and a lighthearted program, as hinted by organizers.
