Local Play Cast Over 100 In Aunt Lucia Burlesque

A community theater is staging Aunt Lucia a college life burlesque Oct 2 and 3 at the high school auditorium under Miss Allee Kiernan of Universal Producing. The show features 100 local people with student characters and a farcical case of mistaken identity as Jerry Watson dresses as an old lady to entertain fraternity brothers and the college staff.

Kitts and Roske Set for Rematch at Barberton Boxing Show

Roske from Akron to meet Kitts of Rittman for a second time in a ten round semi final clash. Their prior bout at Wadsworth last winter ended with Kitts winning in the third round. The card at C and M hall also features a ten round bout between K O Kelly and Mike Dempsey in the 165 lb class.

Autos To Race On Akron's Speedway

The 100 mile AAA Gold Cup Auto Race at Akron board speedway Sunday features a strong Ohio field of twenty five entrants led by Wild Bill Cummings and Frank Brisko. Elimination trials begin at ten with the twelve fastest cars racing Frank Norton at three. If rain delays, the event shifts to October 5.

Agin Arrested Over Mortgage Property Case Near Sterling

Albert Agin, formerly of near Sterling, was returned to Wayne County Jail by Sheriff Clark Shearer to answer a charge of removing mortgaged property from the county. Indicted last week, Agin was apprehended at Woodfield after Sterling residents holding the mortgage traveled to Wooster to confer with officials about the case.

Wayne County Fair Pulling Contest Set With Big Prizes

The Wayne County Fair hosts a two class Team Pulling Contest on Friday with no entry fee and $200 in cash premiums. Eight teams are entered and records from Greenville Ohio and Iowa are cited. Wayne Dinsmore of Chicago will speak, and DJS Kass of Ohio State University oversees the horse department notes.

The Rittman high school orchestra met Tuesday in the auditorium to organize for the forthcoming year and set immediate plans. Wayne County 4-H Club Exhibits At County Fair

About 1000 farm youths from Wayne County will display exhibits at the county fair in the 4-H department. More than last year, with 600 girls and numerous projects in dairy, beef, pigs, poultry, sheep, corn, potatoes, forestry, and gardens. Clubs from many townships participate under 61 adult advisors, marking Wayne County as a leading 4-H area in Ohio.

Dall Hile Dies at Wadsworth Ohio

Dallas L L Dall Hile aged 66 died at Wadsworth hospital after pneumonia worsened an earlier injury. He had worked as a pipefitter at the Ohio Salt company and recently suffered an avulsion while on the job. Funeral services set for Sunday at 3 PM at the Presbyterian church with private service at 1:30 PM. burial in Dories town cemetery. Rittman Delegates Attend 88th Knight Templars Conclave

Representing Rittman at the 88th annual Knight Templars of Ohio conclave in Cleveland were Walter Keen and Jess Young. Both 22nd degree Masons from Akron lodge, they reported an attendance exceeding 10 000 Templars and 40 bands providing music for the parade through Cleveland business districts.

Center Guilford School To Hold Second Reunion

The Central Guilford school will hold its second annual reunion on Sunday September 28 at the Guilford township hall one quarter mile east of the old schoolhouse. All former students are invited to attend and a large turnout is expected. The event is listed in the supplement of The Press.
