Coffman-Chubb Reunion Held at Rittman Park
The Coffman-Chubb reunion met Sunday in the Rittman Park pavilion with 67 attendees. Dinner games were led by Mr and Mrs Lester Coffman of Akron. Charles Coffman could not attend. Russell Coffman filled in as acting president. Officers elected include Charles Coffman president Russell Coffman vice president Dorothy Coffman Kerr secretary Pauline Coffman treasurer. Herbert and Evelyn Shane will run games and Gladys Smith heads the table committee. Next year’s gathering is set for July 14 at the same park.

Fly Days Celebrate Air Rides and Turkey Shoot at Wadsworth Airport
Hundreds enjoy helicopter and airplane rides over Rittman and Wadsworth as Fly Days returns for a final Sunday event. About 45 visiting pilots join locals at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport while a twin Piper Apache and a Cessna 172 are on display. The turkey shoot remains popular with guns provided if needed.

The second annual Rittman Hot Stove League banquet at the American Legion Hall celebrated a successful youth season with 160 attendees. Denny Gatehouse, ex Cleveland pitcher and current Red Sox scout, urged hustle and perseverance, answered questions, and helped present trophies to Boxboard Management Club and Morton Salt for league pennants and playoff wins. The Butcher Braves earned both pennant and playoff trophies, with each member receiving an award and autographed team photo. The National League and American League youths, ages 9 to 15 and 12 to 15 respectively, anticipate 1957 with renewed enthusiasm. a chicken dinner closed the event.
