Rittman Board faces Title I cuts and budget shifts
At a Monday meeting the Rittman Board of Education reported Title I funding will fall from 245000 to 145000, due to new guidelines using 1970 census figures. The loss, mainly affecting Wayne County, requires offset from the general fund with tuition paid by parents. several staff changes and a moved 1974 graduation date were approved.

Magalski 66 Dies After Short Illness At Akron General
Chester S Magalski age 66 of 180 E Sunset Dr died Saturday night at Akron General Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 14, 1907 in Cuyahoga Falls to John and Mary Gougal Magalski, he lived there before moving to the Rittman Sterling area in 1950. He worked as a technical engineer for the Ohio Highway Dept in Wooster for 13 years. Surviving are his wife Lavonne, one daughter Sandra Winkler of Rittman, two brothers Joseph McGall of Ellet and John Magalski of Akron, three sisters Sophia Johnson Helen Schnee and Clara Huddleston all of St Cloud Fla, and two grandchildren Stephanine and Dawn. Services were held Tuesday at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman with Rev L L Kollar officiating. Burial was in Rittman Cemetery.
