A Rittman man, Noah Lovins aged 30, died from skull injuries after his car flipped several times Saturday night near County Roads 504 and 215 between Rittman and Sterling. He lived in Rittman a year and worked for Crown Steel Corp in Orrville, with prior service in the armed forces. Services were held in Dunlow, West Virginia. Surviving relatives are listed. In a separate incident Everett Owens, 32, of Rittman escaped injury after leaping from a stalled car on a railroad crossing west of Rittman. the car engine stalled as a train approached, and the car was carried along the tracks nearly a mile.

Trustees To Decide On Township Zoning Question

Fire department busy with multiple calls around Rittman
Four calls this week sent Rittman and Wadsworth fire units to incidents. A hay barn at George Ryneer farm north of Rittman on Medina County Road 51 burned, with $1500 damage and two rabbits lost. Firefighters spent three hours at the scene. A trailer of waste paper at the Ryneer farm dump fire was moved off and light damage resulted. A grass fire behind John Skraba and Fred Orr homes on Ritter Drive was extinguished. A Monday evening blaze damaged the kitchen at Dave Walters residence 179 West Hill. cause under insurance review.

Services were held Monday for Mrs Martha M Garver 46 of 149 Frederick Street who died Thursday night after a yearlong illness. Born in Medina she lived in Ritman 26 years. She and husband Ellis, an employee of Packaging Corporation of America, had a son Randall of Akron and daughter Kay Hensley of Ritman. She was a member of Ritman First Church of Christ. Burial followed at Producer Memorial Cemetery with Brother Robert Hanze officiating. Gillman Haines Funeral Home directed arrangements.
