Local Boy Injured In Bicycle Accident

Six year old Tom Hile son of Mr and Mrs James Hile of 34 North Main St was severely injured when he fell on bicycle handlebars causing internal injuries He was taken to Children Hospital in Akron and is reported to be improving and may return to school this week

Prizes Displayed At Dalton Game

Two days remain to buy tickets for prizes to be awarded at the Rittman Dalton football game Friday night. Bob Bogager, general chairman, urges turning in money and tickets before kickoff. Prizes shown include a 1952 Chevrolet four door deluxe sedan a Hamilton Beach mixer a Bendix dryer an RCA table radio a Goodyear power mower a Sunbeam coffeemaker a deluxe bicycle and a Toastmaster toaster. The event was tied to a canceled Rittman Home Coming and tickets are being sold during the game.

Lions Plan Auction Rev at Goodyear Heights Church

Goodyear Heights Lions Club hosted guest speaker Allam Blackman of the Methodist Church with Thomas Odwalt leading the program. Plans are underway for an annual community auction in October, with Harry Hawk as auctioneer. A speaker next Tuesday is Ralph Fisher about a constitutional convention.

Hearing Postponed on Telephone Rate Increase

The hearing on the proposed telephone rate increase, originally set for Wednesday, Sept 17, has been postponed to Wednesday October 15 at 10 am before the Ohio Public Utilities Commission. Information provided by city solicitor Rhonemus.

Council Kills Rent Control

Milton Presbyterian Ladies Auxilary Hosts Meeting

The Milton Presbyterian church ladies auxiliary met Thursday afternoon in the social rooms with 20 members and 2 guests. Mrs. Robert Wenger led the program, with Mrs W. W. Frye handling the devotional. Humorous readings by Mrs. George Secrest followed, and guest Miss Carolyn Wald closed with a piano solo. Refreshments were served by the committee.

Employees Entertained at Bauman Street Picnic

Mr and Mrs Homer Moore with associate Mr and Mrs Clyde Ambrose entertained Rattman Department Store employees Friday evening. A 6 30 picnic lunch followed by social time in the lawn park, watching pall game on television and films from Moore and Ambrose's Canada trips. Guests reported a wonderful evening.

Funeral services for Lt. William T. Rosenberg held at First Baptist Church

Lt. William T. Rosenberg, a World War II veteran and bombardier, was killed in a Moody Air Base plane crash on Sept 10. Services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 423. He is survived by parents, one sister, seven brothers, and multiple relatives.

Legion Auxiliary Opens Fall Meetings With New President

Mrs. Helen Ramsier led the American Legion Auxiliary in its first post summer gathering. Membership reached 75 paid members as Margar Hodovan announced enrollments. Carol Duskey reported Girl's State activities and Janet Maine noted Lions Club social events. Margaret Hodovan recalled Rittman Auxiliary's year of rehab success and district honors, with a local high school flag gift, plus memorial highlights and a brief state convention resume.

Rittman School Enrollment Reaches New High

The Rittman school system reports 985 students enrolled from kindergarten through high school, with 112 in kindergarten, 680 in grades one through eight, and 193 in high school. Two Hurt In Cycle Tilts

Darrell Fixler aged 4 son of Mr and Mrs Wayne Fixler of 209 Clover Street suffered a second splintered fracture of his left shoulder when his tricycle jackknifed last Sunday and threw him to the sidewalk. He was treated by Dr Pease in Wadsworth with x rays. Mary Jane House aged 6 daughter of Mr and Mrs Howard House of S Fourth Street broke her left arm while trial riding Sherry Hall's bicycle. She was x rayed by Dr Alexander and placed in a cast by Dr O J Shong. Both boys and girl are reported as getting along nicely.

Marshallsville Driver Gets Stiff Sentence

WOOSTER Municipal court Judge Howard D. King sentenced George Dawson of Marshallville for driving while intoxicated. He received a $250 fine plus costs, six months in jail, and a year revocation of his driving license. Dawson pleaded innocent to a charge of hitting and seriously injuring Arthur Hoffer of Fredericksburg. He claimed one beer before the crash but admitted heavy weekend drinking.

Mothers' Club Meet in Rittman at Clara Daniels Home

The Rittman Mothers' Club met at Clara Daniels' home on Sept 16 with 19 members present. Norma Campbell led a Polio discussion and Dorothy Frewell reviewed Inside Ohio, sponsored by the Ohio Women's Club. Refreshments were served by Mrs Fretwell and assistant. Next hostesses named were Mary Willems and Illene Marshall.
