Mary Ann Johnson Rites Held for 84-Year-Old Sterling Resident
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Evangelical United Brethren church for Mrs Mary Ann Johnson who died Wednesday at her son Paul’s home in Rittman. A Sterling resident for 29 years she was 84 and had 20 years of perfect Sunday School attendance. She leaves two daughters Mrs Mary Blatti and Mrs Nellie Vanzile of Rittman and two sons Carl of Sterling and another son.

George W Holm 85 longtime Rittman resident died at his Akron home at 5 15 pm Wednesday. He served two terms on Rittman village council and moved to Akron seven years ago where he gardened until this summer. Trailer Camp Fire Near Shinersburg Reported Monday
Fire crews responded to Garver's trailer camp in Shinersburg Monday at 1 30 am. A trailer vacated Sunday is believed to have started by a stove left on causing the blaze. The fire was extinguished with limited damage and no other trailers affected.
