Rittman Shuts Out Barks Blues 10 to 0 on Wet Field

Rittman blanked Akron Barks Blues 10 to 0 in a damp game. Rittman pitcher Shook fanned 15 and allowed 3 hits, aiding a team with 25 wins in 30. Umpire Smith and scorekeeper Mulice noted a 1 hour 50 minute contest.

School Notes Reflect Enrollment Rise and Staff Additions

School notes show a fifteen pupil rise from the first day of last year with two extra teachers and rented rooms easing congestion. Senior optional studies shift from Cicero and civics to common branch reviews while geometry remains in other tracks. Five grades list pupil totals and staff includes J. C. Meyer as principal and W Crouse as superintendent.

Barberton Tragedy Kills Man At West Barberton Loop

A Wadsworth man, A Lafferty, 60, was struck and killed by a northbound train at the West Barberton loop at 8 p m Tuesday. Motorman Clyde Kunkler did not see him until after impact. The body was removed to Billows morgue in Akron. Coroner Kendig ruled the death accidental. The widow reported past threats of self harm. Funeral services were held in Wadsworth.

Chippewa Township Schools Open With List of Teachers

Chippewa Township schools opened Monday with a lineup of teachers in charge. The roster includes John Birkbeck at No 1 Emma Schaefer at No 2 Iva Adams at No 3 Grace Sheafer at No 4 Ella Santrock at No 5 Mark Spacht at No 6 Minnie Steiner at No 7 Eva Shettler at No 8 Ada Bauman at No 9 Esther Weckesser at No 10.

Veteran William Knepp Dies at 77 Near Creston

William Knepp, 77, died at his home south of Creston on Friday noon. A Civil War veteran, he was father to ex county Surveyor Knepp of Wooster and Mrs. Lester Welling, among other children.

Lance Reunion at Chippewa Lake Celebrates Fifteenth Year

The Lance connection held its fifteenth annual reunion at Chippewa Lake on Saturday September 6 with about 150 attendees from Ohio towns including Wooster Warren Akron Medina Homerville West Salem Cleveland Barberton Rittman Leroy Lodi Sterling Creston Seville and some from Michigan. Officers elected for the year were President Arthur Blough Vice President Arthur Steele and Secretary Treasurer Miss Bessie Lance. Also noted was the Grand Home Coming of teachers pupils and households from School District No 8 Milton Township Wayne County set for September 20 1913 marking the district's fortieth anniversary with a program music ball game and picnic in the woods inviting distant friends to attend or write.

An odd diary fragment follows a young woman's day of meals and fatigue showing stomach sensitivity and irritability. The entry ends with a death notice for Jacob Williams 77 of Marshallville who died Friday and was interred at Lower cemetery. He was a recently retired farmer, unmarried, with a Cleveland sister.
