Rittman plans house open and council approves
Rittman officials set an open house for September 22 with prices ranging from 66 500 to 70 800 by three appraisers before a purchase by the council. The vacant rear lot called a Pride tag was priced at 7 000 by the seller. Plans call for a map room and a drafting office in vacated city hall offices. Gosney says the rooms are needed for citizens to privately discuss income tax with staff. Fire department rooms will be vacated for city storage. A speaker is planned. name to be announced. The building housed police dispatch, squad rooms, two private offices, and jail cells. West wing remodeling creates new fire department HQ with a 19x30 training room and 14x15 kitchen. Six trucks and an old Lafayette truck will be housed. The property includes two rear lots for parking. Remodeling costs run about 7 000. Council cites space for police and parking as key benefits and notes better location and accessibility. The building and lots were appraised at unspecified figures.
