Pet show and picnic sparks pandemonium in Rittman park
A supervised play group's pet show drew kids and many animals including dogs cats rabbits a goose and a bunny. Prizes went to the smallest dog longest nose and hardest to handle among the dogs while other animals earned fun honors. Balloons and bubblegum from local sponsors added to the event's lively atmosphere.

Field Day Delivers Triumph with Bicycle Gift to 9-Year-Old
Rittman Field Day drew over 150 children for races games and prizes. Jimmy Lambert aged 9 won the big bicycle while Rose Marie Riley won the Good Sportsmanship trophy after leading a race but stopping at the tape, claiming she did not know it was to be touched. Union To Picnic On Labor Day
Hundreds of Boxboard Union members and families will picnic on Labor Day at Woodcrest on Route 5 west of Doyles town. Prizes will be awarded per Joseph Gaborsky the arrangements chairman. Transportation will meet at the Union hall between 10 and 11 a.m.

R. R. Car Collapses Delay Endy Brothers Carnival
Carnival shows halted in Rittman near the B and O depot when a car on the Endy Brothers train broke down. The engineer stopped the train with no injuries. The delay lasted about 1/2 hour and two cars were damaged.

Booster Club Thanks Donors After Weekend Fundraiser
The Booster Club reports over 270 dollars raised from an auction and soft drink sales at field day. Rain dampened Saturday evening sales, but patrons and volunteers helped make the event a success. Slim Wilmot, club president, extends thanks to donors and workers who aided in erecting the stands.
