Special officer Mills was stabbed fifteen times during a late Wednesday assault by a group of foreigners on Salt Street. The attack, likely an assassination attempt, followed Mills’s order to quell noise at a local restaurant. Four suspects were jailed, with one bound over to the grand jury in Wooster, as a city-wide manhunt and court actions unfolded.
