News of the death of Charles Focht Jr. 22 shocks Rittman and Sterling. He lived in Rittman until his first year in high school, then moved to Sterling in 1924 and later to Lebanon, Pa. Born September 1, 1909. Details of death not known.

Commencement Plans For Rittman Schools This Week
Commencement exercises for the senior class and eighth grade are scheduled this week in Rittman with seventeen 1932 graduates to receive diplomas Friday evening. Frank P Whitney of Collinwood High School will deliver the senior address. diplomas will be presented by W W Bodager, school board president. The program includes music, invocations by Rev E S Hendrickson, readings, solos, and benediction. Ministerial Assn Comes to Ritman Ohio Meeting
On Tuesday May 24 the Medina and Wayne County ministerial associations meet at the Presbyterian church in Ritman for their annual combined gathering. Wayne County hosts and invites Medina to join. Program begins 10:30 with Rabbi Latz of Canton addressing the morning session. The group will dine at noon and attend an afternoon program.

Press Team Starts Off With a Bang
Rittman Press playground team beat Sterling 14 to 1 in the Inter-City league opener with Castor starring. Other first round winners included Orrville National Bank over Milano, Chevy’s over King’s Contractors, and Clinton over Preservation Co. The Press face Applecreek Institution next Tuesday at Applecreek while Sterling meets King's Contractors at Sterling.

Poppy Sale Date Saturday May 28

Final School Activities Start With Services Sunday
The final week of school opened with a grand Sunday service led by Rev. Everett of the Brethren. He spoke on Who is Jesus, with Rev. E G Hamilton, Rev. B S Hendrickson, and Rev. C J McGee assisting. The High School orchestra and Glee clubs provided music as seventeen seniors and twelve faculty members formed the procession, drawing many witnesses to the event.

Salaries Cut Across All Teachers by School Board
The Wid Board of Education reduced teachers pay across the board with modest cuts for those earning under 1000 and substantial cuts for higher salaries. Under 1000 saw 60 percent, 1000 to 1200 about 9 percent, and 1200 and up folded to roughly 12 percent. The board cited expense reductions as necessary, avoiding department eliminations where possible.

Father of H Hahn buried Wednesday
Abraham F Iitin 81 father of Herbert Hahn was buried last Wednesday in Chatham cemetery after services at H S Emote funeral home with Reverend Arthur L Dodge of Black River Church of the Brethren officiating. Hahn died Sunday after a lingering illness born in Pennsylvania and moved to Chatham many years ago. Mrs Hahn died earlier leaving son Herbert, son Clarence of Ludlow, and daughter Edith of Nantichako Pennsylvania.
