Rittman Board Fills Teaching Vacancy Monday
Rittman board of education appointed Miss Audrey Shook to the high school teaching post previously held by Miss Mary Crawley at a special meeting Monday night. Miss Crawley was not a candidate for next year. Shook, daughter of Mr and Mrs C B Shook, has taught in Clinton the last three years and will teach Latin English and French. The board granted pay increases to several teachers and approved one year contracts for all. A tour of inspection revealed needed building repairs.

Grace Schutz Rites Held in Doylestown for Local Teacher
Funeral services were held Sunday for Miss Grace E. Schutz 29 who died Thursday at her parents home near Marshallville. Richard Mayberry officiated at F A Frase Funeral Home Doylestown. Burial followed in Crown Hill cemetery. Miss Schutz taught in Baughman township and Canal Fulton and was a 1927 Orrville High School graduate who attended Kent State University University of Miami and University of Colorado. She was a member of Baughman Grange and the First Church of Christ Scientist Wooster. Surviving are her parents and sister Miss Pearl Schutz.

Nearly 209 persons attended a Homemakers School at Rittman City Hall led by Miss Helen Heltbrak a Westinghouse home economist. Mina Mefthrink blended humor with instruction as a technicolor movie And You Can Have Everything was shown. The Marlon Reserve Power Co sponsored the event. Grand prize went to Mrs Victor Pihuta an electric sandwich grill. Thirty door prizes were awarded to numerous attendees. The Westinghouse model kitchen was displayed on stage.
