Rittman Pool Opens May 30 With Day Evening Hours
Opening day set for May 30 for the Rittman swimming pool with hours 1 to 5 in the afternoon and 6 to 9 in the evening daily. A Friday night moonlight swim runs 9:30 p.m. to midnight with admission 50 cents. Season tickets list family 20 dollars couples 10 adults 18 and student 6. General admission 50 cents adults 20 cents children. Tickets available at Charles E Wilson Inc James Frye Real Estate and at Diversion Hall and at the pool after May 30. Swimming lessons weekdays 10 a.m. to noon. 25 cents for children 50 cents for those over 16. Reservations via Diversion Hall or sign up at the pool after May 30.

Second annual car safety inspection in Rittman
Police Chief Charles Heffelman announces a two day automobile safety drive in Rittman on May 23 and 24. Two lanes will operate on S. First St from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Volunteers are invited to assist while a later non voluntary check may incur fines for offenders.

Mrs Lulu Hamilton Dies. Rittman Church Aided Original Building
A long time resident of Rittman and former pastor’s wife Mrs Lulu Hamilton 82 died in Cleveland after living with her daughter Faye Goddard for three years. She helped organize and build Rittman First Church of Christ on N Main St. Survived by four sons Vincent Ronald John Vivian and Harry fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral held May 4 with services in South Euclid and grave at Buford Ohio.

Mrs Earle Shook of Burbank formerly of Rittman and her family remain confined at Wadsworth Municipal Hospital after a Feb 10 three car collision near Sterling. The couple face mounting bills. Mrs Shook needs back and leg braces and her husband seeks a glass eye to replace the one lost in the crash.

Two Rittman Boys Remain Hospitalized After March Crash
Two small Rittman boys injured in a March auto crash continue hospitalization. Chantes Akers 11 months old, son of Hayden Akers of RD 1 Rittman, is listed poor but improving at Barberton Citizens Hospital. Timothy Kollert 6, son of Homer and Mrs Kollert of Rte 94 Rittman, remains in critical condition at Children’s Hospital in Akron, unconscious since the crash on March 31.
