Wadsworth Municipal Hospital will hold open house on May 12 from 2 to 5 PM to explain hospital work and invite public participation. An address and music are planned as the community sees what the hospital does and how it operates.
The Wayne County Christian Endeavor convention met at the high school auditorium with an all day Saturday program. A. C Hynd of Buffalo spoke Friday night on aligning business and Christian life. Saturday included plant tours of Ohio Box Board Co and a campfire picnic at the park.
County Surveyor Leapley authorized by Highway Director Boulay to prepare plans and estimates for road work in Wayne County. The July letting targets Mt Eston pavement West Salem pavement and gravel route Holmes to Wayne for contract awards as plans are finalized.

Mary Wells 62 of 133 North Pleasant Street Barberton Ohio died at home Monday. Brother L J Gigandet is the sole survivor. Mr and Mrs Gigandet are traveling from Florida after Jacksonville. Children seek to notify parents of the death. Funeral set for Thursday at 2 p m Barberton with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Mrs Wells died after husband perished on a railroad about two years ago.
Wooster Ave Church of Christ Akron 17 member choir directed by Miss Norma Burkhart performed at Rittman Presbyterian Church. Program featured anthems solos duets trio and quartet with strong balance and expression. Noted for Sanctus and prayer response shading. stormy weather limited attendance.
Ashland College Gospel Teams travel to Ashland Ohio for a three day series at Ritman Brethren Church on May 8 10. The team is new this year and features Kent President of Ashland College Senior Class and graduate of Xonia Seminary who spent six months travel filming in Egypt and will present slides and sing Spanish hymns. Other team members Peters Taber and Creese cover individual services.
Rittman fans witnessed a close season finale as the local nine edged the Akron Firestones 3 to 2 on the home grounds. Every man contributed in a balanced team effort amid a slow, steady game with admission free for ladies.
Redpath Chautauqua opens in Rittman August 17 to 21 with Hippit Concert Company Sidney Landon impersonator and a strong lineup. Adam and Bud will present a Broadway hit. E R Root lectures on bees. McVicker Neelle Quartet offers harmony. Ada Ward Edward Toirling and Betty Booth Concert Company perform. Al Baker and Demiy Dennis close with ventriloquism and plantation music.
The will of the late Mrs. Josephine Caskey from Wooster, with J E B Swineford of Ashland as executor, has been appealed to the court of appeals. The Worcester common pleas court ruled in favor of Firth Presbyterian Church of Wooster against the executor.
Local cinema audiences Friday and Saturday enjoyed Harold Lloyd’s In Hot Water. Manager Goffinet screened high class comedies and other good plays to pleased crowds.
Grover Karel and Mr Leichty, local patients at Wadsworth Municipal Hospital, are improving according to a recent bulletin. Karsch remains hospitalized with a broken leg while Mr Leichty is treated for an infection.
We sincerely thank all who assisted with efforts to put out the fire at our home last Saturday afternoon. About 20 friends in Easton and nearby areas helped, and their support is greatly appreciated.
