A Wright Street window was broken May 1. one suspect questioned and released. Rodney E Fetter’s May 24 crash on 57 A South Main Street left his car off the road several times and damaged the vehicle, culminating in a culvert impact and overturn. David L Barnett collided with a deer on St Main Street April 25. deer died. George Schack damaged a building foundation while parking on Industrial Street May 19.

City Gets Bicentennial Flag At Spring Concert

Rittman will receive its official Bicentennial flag and certificate at a special concert Friday May 14 at Middle School. Mayor Ashton Hall will present the flag to Lindsey Williams, chairman of the Bicentennial Commission. The program March Of America features the High School Instrumental Music Department. Mementos chosen at a meeting will go on sale at the concert. Bicentennial items include American flags used in the concert and in the Parade of Youth on July 2.

Three Arts Gifting Flags For Bicentennial Observances

Three Arts will issue Bicentennial flag certificates for each buyer, with flags in three sizes cotton 2 x foot bunting 3 x 5 nylon 3 x 5 and prices 5 10 and 15 dollars. Orders accepted now for delivery after the parade along with patriotic medallions note cards by local artists and Smucker’s jams in Bicentennial containers. March Of America led by Chris Hall starts at 8 pm a week from Friday.

Union Miffed Over Pace Of City Talks

Rittman Employees Association members protested the pace of city union negotiations with intermittent picketing. Disputed issues include merit pay sick pay grievance procedures and overtime for police. The main block is defining merit pay and its administration.

Pool Passes On Sale For Rittman Pool 1976

Passes for the Rittman Swimming Pool go on sale May 1 to June 4 at the city office on North Main Street. Pre-season family passes cost 20 dollars and single passes 11 dollars. After opening prices rise to 25 dollars for a family pass and 13 dollars for a single. The pool opens Saturday June 5, 1976 and closes Monday.
