Alf Root founder of the Root company of Medina died Monday at his daughter's home. Age 83, he had recently returned from Florida and was thought to have contracted a cold. Born December 9, 1839 in Mogadore Ohio, he gained a world wide reputation for his business. Burial occurred Wednesday in Medina.
