The Chippewa Valley Chorus of SPEBSQSA will perform Friday at Milton United Presbyterian Church. The Chip-Mates and new quartet Neophytes join, with Carl Bradford as MC. Proceeds fund a Youth Fellowship New York trip in June for 41 members and chaperones. Tickets cost 1.50 adults, 0.75 children, 1.00 students.
A Goshen College choir directed by professor Weldy will present a sacred choral program at Bethel Mennonite Church north of Hittman. The concert features Mendelssohn For He Shall Give His Angels Charge, Ischasnokoff Is, a Scottish melody and two spirituals in a capella arrangement.
Prizes were awarded to 22 youngsters at Saturday’s egg hunt in Central Park. Jeff Meese and Susann Ferguson found gold eggs for first prizes while Toni Ann Christian and Brad Breece found silver eggs for second prizes. Bruce D. Brodbeck a senior son of Mr and Mrs Donald A Brodbeck has been named to the Dean's List at Ashland College for the First Semester Dean IL Lindower announced eligibility requires full time enrollment and a 3 5 or better average for the semester.
Sinclair & Valentine a division of Marietta Corporation will expand its plant on Industrial Street with a 30 by 150 foot brick veneer addition adding general offices two laboratories and a solvent production area. Current staff is 22 and hiring plans await clearer figures.
The Junior Music Club gathered at Dr. and Mrs. Donald Rose's residence with Doug Rose hosting. Acting president Joy Kilmer presided as members awarded prizes to Karen Gehman Turst and Diane Duckworth (second). Janet Walker attended as a guest. refreshments included punch and cupcakes. Roger Mailbach served as secretary.
The Rittman city council votes to place renewal of the city income tax before voters on May 2. A 60 percent approval is needed to renew and fund city services beyond property taxes. Last year property tax revenue was $56,141 and income tax surpassed $92,000. If approved, the tax will not be submitted again for four years.
Public hearing adjourned after a discussion on an income tax ordinance and zoning amendments. Major changes include rezoning part of Liberty Street from R3 to R2 and bids on a one ton truck for $2 012. Next hearing set for April 10 at 7 30 p.m. Local officials note plans to remove junk cars and iron out remaining wrinkles.
Donald Meade son of Mr and Mrs Robert Meade of Rittman RD earns on the honor roll for the quarter at Mansfield Techini Jal Sencer.
Don begins a two year course in mechanical engineering at the school this term. He is in his first year and will complete the program over two years.
Members are urged to pay annual dues by Saturday. If dues remain unpaid contact Mrs Kenneth Payne 237 North and Mrs Marvin Adams 76 North Fifth. Those not paid by April 1 will be dropped from membership per committee.
Edwin E. Taylor becomes plant manager at the Rittman carton plant while Boyd Crum advances to production superintendent. Crum joined PCA in 1947 and rose from stocklifter to foreman and superintendent. Taylor, active in local education groups, will relocate to the Akron office.
Principal Thomas Spear released the list of nine Rittman High School students who earned all A grades in the fourth six weeks. Seniors Morudane-Beers Fred Fetzer and Daun Winkler lead the honors. juniors Terry Emplett and Cheryle Stone. Rainy Rohrer a sophomore. and freshmen Karen Smoot Sara Weright and Lee Winchtiare complete the group.
STOTT OT lists seniors Patricia Vinson Roger Salisbury Becky Damron and Glen Adams. William Davis Motors along with Rob ert Young and Glenn Vierheller sue Chrysler Corporation and executives in Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 1 million dollars claiming false and fraudulent representations led to loss of income, damaged reputation, and escrowed funds in a dealer agreement scheme.
In his new role Crum will oversee all production departments at the Rittman carton dart facility and report directly to Taylor. The announcement notes two sons, Lyrr aged 17 and Mike aged 12, as part of the family background.
The Vive chow choir directed by Mathes Casey will present the fourth and final Fine Arts concert of the season at Baldwin Wallace College. Brahms and Ravel pieces are on the program with a barbershop quartet and songs by Copland, at 8 pm in the Elish School.
Taxes in Wayne County must be paid by April 1 1967 after earlier delays. Ten percent penalty applies to unpaid real estate taxes after the deadline. payments accepted at local banks hardware stores and treasurer offices or by mail.
