Imhoff wins four ribbons at Ohio state intramurals

Jennifer Imhoff wins four ribbons in gymnastics at Ohio State intramurals securing 1st in all around, 3rd on vault, 4th on parallel bars and 4th on balance beam. She is daughter of Albert and Beverly Imhoff of 87 N Fourth Street. Linda Walker, daughter of Dr and Mrs William Walker, studies at Grace College and will sing in Michigan and Northern Ohio concerts March 21 to 30. The Junior Class sponsors a paper drive March 24-31 with curbside collection and door to door pickup on March 27.

Egg Hunt Saturday for Rittman Children 12 and Under

The annual Easter egg hunt for Rittman area children age 12 and under will be held March 29 at 1 p.m. at First Street Park. Co sponsored by the Volunteer Firefighters Association and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. In case of rain the hunt moves to Easter Sunday at the same time. All eligible children are invited to join and seek prizes in specially marked eggs.

Honor Students Are Listed Rittman High Honors

Rittman high school principal Marvin Hummel announces the fourth six week honor rolls with names of students earning first and second honors. First honor includes seniors and juniors with all A grades, plus sophomores and freshmen. Second honor lists those with A and B averages across multiple grades, including several named individuals and class standings.

Legion Fish Fry at American Legion Spring Fundraiser

Two Junior Boys Chosen for Buckeye Boys State

Rittman High School juniors were selected by the American Legion and Rittman Rotary Club to represent the town at Buckeye Boys State at Ohio University in Athens from June 14 to 20. Jeff Steele, chosen to represent the American Legion, submitted a letter describing his activities in band and track and listing his organizations.

Vehicle license plates and new validation stickers go on sale at Hershey & Rohrer Inc. 173 S. Main St. in Rittman. Names A through K renewals start April 1 and must be on by April 30. L through Z start May 1 and must be on by May 31. AAA offices in Wooster or Medina issue truck and larger trailer plates. Hours 8 to 5 Monday–Friday, 8 to 12 Saturday. Fees unchanged.

Council Disagrees Over NEFCO Actions And City Issues

Council members fault the city manager for not acting on complaints and citizen suggestions. A long sought stoplight on State Road 57 may cost 10000 with doubtful state funding, prompting alternative plans. Signs and signals around the city are urged, water and sewer line expansions discussed, and a vacant Medina Street house slated for demolition. The council plans a special meeting March 31 on water problems.

The Pennsylvania Packet reports from Savannah in winter 1775 as Sir James Wright delivers a speech to the Georgia General Assembly. He warns that American colonies from Nova Scotia to the north are in ferment, urges lawful conduct, and cautions against trampling liberty without law. The Commons reply pledges constitutional rights while remaining loyal to the crown and duties to their constituents.

Auxiliary Lions Select Two Representatives for Bulice Girl’s Camp

Terri Arnold will represent the American Legion Auxiliary with Julie Hilsheimer as her alternate. Jody Forrer will represent the Rittman Lions Club with Pam McComas as alternate. Terri, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Arnold of Rittman, is active in Future Teachers of America, Future Nurses of America, Pep Club, intramurals, and cheerleading, with basketball one year.
