Esther Lilley Dies After Tuberculosis At 36
Mrs. Esther Lilley longtime resident of Statest died Thursday afternoon at her home after months of illness from tuberculosis. Survived by husband Lloyd and three daughters Dorothy Daisy and Eleanor the 16 40 and 3 respectively. Funeral services were held Saturday in the U B church conducted by Ray Charles Fredman. Burial followed in Seville cemetery.

Mrs. Lilley born near Congress November 20 1884 died March 17 1921 at age 36. She married Lloyd Lilley December 7 1902 and left husband three daughters Dorothy Dalay Eleanor and ten children total, sisters Mra Kssinger Rateld Clark and Mra Lilley, brothers Ira Ora Charles Wm Frank Ray. she joined United Brethren church and was praised as a faithful wife and loving mother.

Leroy Smith, clerk of the board of county commissioners, was appointed deputy probate judge by Probate Judge Jones to succeed J W Stotnor who resigned due to ill health. Smith will assume duties next Monday. Stotnor had been deputy probate judge under T W Orr and A Woitser, filling the role under current probate judge Steiner, who has been ill and recently left a hospital. Both Steiner and Smith are residents of Rittman and vicinity. Smith spent his boyhood near Ratwine, about a mile and a half northwest of town.
