Printing presses boost Rittman industrial might

The Ohio Boxboard Company plant in Rittman houses more large printing presses than surrounding counties. Additional presses will be added with the Owens Salt Company plant expansion. Printing sacks from cloth rolls will move to sewing, hiring about fifteen more workers, with further improvements planned in the coming year.

Nick Clever Fined for Disturbance at Post Office

In police court Nick Clever faced charges of intoxication and disorderly conduct after an incident in the post office lobby Thursday. He claimed ignorance and a winter in a box car. Judge Hines set a $25 fine plus costs and possible county jail time, which he later paid in full.

Wertz Reports Busy Rockefeller Building Offices

U S District Attorney E S Wertz returned to Wooster and described touring the Rockefeller building offices for the proposed Wooster street railway project. He noted about a dozen engineers in multiple rooms, observing active work and suggested a Board of Trade committee visit to verify progress.

The Ohio Experiment Station Farm News reports with regret the death of Dr Charles E Bessey a 30 year professor of botany at the University of Nebraska who died in Lincoln February 25 born in Milton township Wayne county Ohio in 1845 in his 70th year He mentored more professional botanists than any other teacher in America and his textbooks are widely used in botany courses.

Seventh grade students in Sterling debated a controversial question Wednesday week. The jury found two to one against five defendants. Severe Drought in Oarville Votes Dry in Beverage Sale

Oprville voters on Tuesday rejected the sale of intoxicating beverages by 150 votes with 491 opposed and 341 in favor. Convey in Van Wert County voted dry by 42, Franklin and Warren counties went dry, while Lebanon and parts of Warren County went wet. The overall turnout reached 832 votes.

Revival meetings led by the Champion Reed evangelistic party are in full swing with about thirty conversions from the first week.
