Grand Opening Saturday at Trogdon's Market

Rittman grows as Trogdon's Self Serve Market hosts a grand opening Saturday to showcase a full remodeling. The event features hourly grocery basket giveaways and a 5:00 p.m. ham draw. Readiness follows a month of work with new meat cases shelving lighting and an enclosed gasoline station for the attendant.

Pupils Participate In Art Exhibit at Doylestown

Six students from each grade at Rittman Schools will join the Art Achievement Day Exhibit in Doylestown on March 25. Prizes include three trophies for top high schools, two trophies for other high schools, and three school pins. A $1500 airbrush prize will be awarded to the outstanding high school student, sponsored by Brodhead Garrett Co. of Cleveland Ohio.

New Meeting Rooms Planned for Rittman Rod and Gun Club

The Rittman Rod and Gun Club votes to establish dedicated meeting rooms inside the former Wagner Sheet Metal building at 171 S Main St. The club will open in the new quarters on April 3 and is planning to restock Charlie's Puddle to allow children to fish again.

Girl Scout Activities and Festival Net Profit Report

A City Hall meeting of the Girl Scout Committee is noted with a festival Friday night yielding a net profit of 46 dollars. Officers elected include Betty Loui Lapp as president Lars Jean Frey as secretary and Rose Marie Bostansic as treasurer. Brownies and Troop 6 held meetings last week with selections for the festival and hike plans.

Stop Sign Drive Draws Complaints

Complaints rise over a stop sign at Sterling and Erie streets as about 50 violators have been noted. The eastbound Sterling Ave traffic is halted by the sign though residents argue Sterling should be a thru street due to heavy traffic. Village officials discussed a bunker light and a stop light while police efforts continue.

About 75 members of the Wayne County Volunteer Firemen's association toured the Ohio Boxboard Co plant on Monday. Kenneth Lance and Rollin Jones led the entertainment and guides were plant foremen and company employees. Dale Hogg spoke on a Columbus meeting. 18 communities attended discussions after the talk. Carl Adams presented guests. refreshments were managed by Joe Walters Roy Lutz and O A Houglan. The group met in the city hall after the tour.

Sophomore Chapel Assembly Hosted by Rev Patterson

The Sophomore Class sponsored a chapel assembly on Wednesday with Rev Patterson of the Baptist Church as guest speaker. Rittman High School Band will attend the North Eastern Ohio Band and Orchestra Contest at Kent State this Saturday. Protestant churches in Rittman schedule a union Good Friday service at the Church of God on E Ohiev from 1 30 to 3 pm. Studebaker Agency Awarded To Hile

Announcement this week that Hile Motor Sales is named Studebaker dealer for the area. The Wayne County region excluding Wooster is covered. James Hile, owner, plans to drop the Kuiser Frazer agency but no action yet. He says he has pursued the Studebaker dealership for some time.

Parents of Scouts Invited to Meeting

Ancyone invites boys aged 8 to 11 interested in joining Cub Scouts to a monthly Pack meeting at City Hall on the last Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Each boy must be accompanied by a parent and may sign up then.
