Press Easter Coloring Contest closes March 27
The Rittman Press Easter coloring contest invites children under 14 to submit two cartoons using crayons pencil or paint. Entries must come from this week or last week’s cartoons or be distributed through schools with complete rules on page six. Winning prizes include deluxe notebooks and boxes of crayons.

Friends rally to aid Brickey family after fire
Last Thursday afternoon a fire gutted the Thonen Street home of Mr and Mrs Roy Brickey. Their seven year old son and the couple, new to Rittman, lost most furnishings and clothing with no insurance. Numerous donations of clothing food and money arrived from coworkers neighbors and church members. The Ohio Boxboard Workers union gave 50 and Semler Products and Chevrolet plant workers contributed undisclosed sums. The Brickeys are in temporary furnished housing and seek a rental property up to 50 dollars a month within three weeks. Contacts: Brickey 243K or the Rittman Press.

Woodrow Smith Bound Over in High School Breakin Case
Woodrow Smith was bound over to the Wayne County Grand Jury on a $500 bond. He faces charges with two others in breaking and entering the high school. Ralph West received $25 fine plus costs for reckless driving.

J A Blatter, 13 years old, died after a heart attack at home and died in Wadsworth Hospital. He was born in Monroe County and lived in Rittman. Survived by wife Emma and children Kula Martha David, plus siblings and grandchildren. Funeral at First Brethren Church with burial in Rittman Cemetery.
