Call Goes Out To Old Timers In Rittman
A meeting of Rittman Old Timers will be held at City Hall next Tuesday at 7 30 p m to reminisce on the town s early days. Many residents want a written record of incidents since the last Rome amine and to prepare material for the next Home Coming. The recent Home Coming boosted interest with a contest for oldest Rittman photographs drawing entries from over a hundred old timers, young people, and new residents.

Funeral Rites Held for Mrs Susie Grible in Akron
Mrs Susie Grible aged 84 of RD 1 Rittman died Sunday at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. Services were held Wednesday at St John’s Catholic Church Akron with Requiem Mass by Rev Stephen Walko. She leaves a daughter Theresa Christman of Rittman a son Andrew of Akron brothers Andrew Sedlock of Akron John Sedlock of New York City and sister Betty Sedlock of New York City five grandchildren and includes membership in St John’s Catholic Church Ladies Catholic Union Lodge 217 Akron Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

William F. Rike, custodian at First Street school for 12 years and truant officer, loves his work and children. He helps with repairs, keeps a 72 degree classroom, and shovels coal daily starting at 6 AM. Rike, 66 on March 12, lives in Rittman 50 years and is the oldest custodian in the district.

Three members of the Rittman High School chorus and eighteen from Rn High School took part in the Mount Union College Music Festival at Alliance on Saturday March 15. Cecil Stewart directed the chorus and Ed Frank Goldman led the festival band. Goldman praised Ohio’s strong music performance to the audience.
