Boy injured in Route 94 bicycle accident near cheese factory
A boy struck while riding south on Route 94 near a cheese factory Wednesday evening suffered a base skull fracture and a broken leg. He was transported from Wadsworth General Hospital to Barberton Hospital. John Schmale of Smithville has not been charged as yet, per the sheriff's department.

Showboat Minstrel This Weekend at Rittman High School
The third annual Show Boat Minstrel opens Friday and Saturday at 8 pm at Rittman High School with a sold out Friday show and limited Saturday seats. Proceeds support the PTA scholarship fund. Soap Box Derby to Run June 23 on Same Course
Derby director Wal ter Grosjean announces the 1957 Wayne Holmes County Soap Box Derby will use the 900 foot County road course near Apple Creek State Hospital. Boys 11 to 15 power gravity cars down the hill with support from Wooster Daily Record and Wooster 20-30 Club sponsors. Robert Burnett was elected chairman of the Student Union’s recreation area at DePauw University. Investment club elects officers in Rittman
Wayne Ferrer heads the Rittman Investment Club for a second year with Bill Williams as vice president Jay Rohrer secretary and William Forrer treasurer. Fifteen local men belong to the club which meets monthly to discuss finance and stocks and then invest a small sum. The last annual report shows each member lost $3 in the first year due to broker fees totaling $6 a month. Dividends usually cover fees after the first year. The club buys growth stocks only and owns stock in nine companies.

Man fined in disorderly conduct case with probation
Jess Watts of 144 S. Main St was fined 50 dollars and costs in court Monday night for disorderly conduct and intoxication. Acting Mayor Vernon Steiner suspended 35 dollars of the fine but placed Watts on a one year probation. Police were called to 144 S Main St at 1 50 a m Monday morning after Watts allegedly attacked his wife with a knife.
