Council and Trustees Plan Spring Paving on Main Street Extension

Last Monday night the village council met the township trustees in the council chambers to discuss paving the south end of Main Street and the end of Sterling Avenue. Trustees will pave three feet of the extension, ensuring the eyesore will be paved this spring if current calculations hold.

Wayne Co Fish and Game Club Plans Membership Drive

The Wayne Co Fish and Game Club in Wooster held a directors meeting led by Joe Sherrick and John Fisher. They approved a membership drive with two teams of 13 competing. the losing side will eat a cracker and soup dinner beside the winners who will have turkey. The dinner follows the March 26 finish of the contest.

Taxpayers face March 16 deadline for income tax returns

Those required to file income tax returns must do so by March 16. Under the new law a single person is exempt 1600 dollars, a married person 3600 dollars, up from last year. The tax rate drops from 2 to 1 percent. Forms must be sworn before a notary or authorized official.

Clarence A. Broughton was granted a divorce from Alice Mickley Broughton on grounds of gross neglect. The couple did not contest. custody of their WN months old son was awarded to the mother who has lived with her parents in Wadsworth.
