March brings snow and the lamb’s delay in sight

In a weather filled bulletin the community notes continued snow on March 1 and the first three days, while the Red Cross appeals for a bed for a flood affected family in Rittman. Property Insured For Flood Damages In Rittman City

Goss B. Twichell of the Wayne County Red Cross urges residents to obtain flood insurance under the Flood Disaster Protection Act. Coverage up to 35000 for single family homes and 100000 for small multi unit buildings plus 10000 on contents, with premiums of 0.25 and 0.35 per hundred. Communities must enroll by July 1, 1975 or lose federal assistance and access to insured lending.

Local Man's Father Dies

George Woods 86 father of Cecil Woods of Rittman died February 24 at Grant Hospital Columbus. Retired stationary engineer of Ohio, member of Broad Street United Methodist Church Humboldt Lodge 476 AM Mt. Vernon Commandery and Stationary Engineers Union. Survived by wife seven children 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Joy Corman former Canton resident dies at 55

Joy Corman of Canton, born November 11, 1919, died February 28, 1975. She lived in Rittman until 1932 with parents Harry and Hannah Weiss, later in Akron, married Saul Corman in 1945, survived by husband Saul and daughter Jill. Services were March 2 at Arnold Funeral Home Canton with burial in Rose Hill Akron. memorial at 1030 Evienhurst N E Canton this week.

Municipalities Group To Meet Wednesday

Imhoff said the discussion will ask how the requested rate hike affects Rittman after the city council freed itself from PUCO jurisdiction in December 1974. Ohio Edison seeks a 27 percent increase for industrial and rural residential and commercial customers, based on revenues from 1973 filings, with both groups covered by the emergency rate rises.

Ohio Edison rate increase prompt senate local meeting and death notice

Albert Imhoff reports Organization of Level B Municipalities will meet Wednesday to discuss Ohio Edison emergency rate increases granted February 18 by the PUCO. The company cites inflation, budget cuts, and potential power shortages as reasons for interim and permanent increases. Also reported is the death of Mrs. Leota Blair, 61, of Medina Street, with funeral plans and surviving relatives listed.

Bloodmobile to Visit at American Legion on March 6 1975

Red Cross Bloodmobile will visit the American Legion from noon to 6 PM on Thursday March 6 1975. Potential donors should be in good health and aged 17 to 66. Gloria's bulletin shop shows wind blown window

Employees at Gloria's in the Rittman Shopping Center found the shop aired and a plate glass window blown in during the night. The wind, blowing since Tuesday afternoon, damaged the rear showcase at 10:31 p.m. No clothing was taken as shoppers reported honesty and all items were recovered in disarray.

Boston Citizens Deny Being Paid for Port Bill Relief

An 18th century notice from the Boston committee distributing charitable donations for the Boston Port bill relief rejects a rumor that each member is paid six shillings plus a commission. They state they act disinterestedly, keep records, and invite truth seekers to inspect them. They urge informants to report defaming claims. Signed by order.
