Harding Council No. 249 Daughter of America held an inspection on Tuesday March 23 led by district deputy Mrs Flossie Wilson at Diversion Hall. Mrs Ray Palmer reported progress of the relief committee while Twila Burkhart joined as a new member. The group planned moving paraphernalia to Rohrer Hall for future meetings and hosted a traveling bingo social hour with desserts from Clara and Stella Boling. Abbie Close attended as a guest.

Fire damage estimated at 25000 dollars after a blaze destroyed barns and stored crops on a Rittman area property. Twelve shoals of cattle perished or were injured. 16 tons of fertilizer and significant grain and hay were destroyed. Cause undetermined though faulty wiring suggested by a relative. No injuries reported among residents and fire crews prevented spread to nearby buildings.
