City Council Sets Timing for Sidewalk Installations
Council reaffirmed a 30 day deadline after written notice for residents to install sidewalks or face city installation with charges. The body repealed last week’s sidewalk ordinance and passed a clarifying measure. Other actions included personnel policy changes, mileage rate hike, extended sick leave, and longevity pay. A 2 mill recreation levy was approved for the ballot and a speed increase near completion to 60 mph. A Sea World trip for seniors was proposed and a mosquito spray plan was authorized after safety questions. The next meeting follows the budget hearing on July 12.
