Walkers Return From African Mission Work

Dr William Walker and his wife and five children returned to Rittman on Tuesday June 29 after nearly two years in the Central African Republic with the Brethren Church mission. They based at Boguila and worked in medical care and evangelism, teaching native nurses, running a surgery department, and aiding bush dispensaries while sharing faith. The family endured tropical illnesses, including malaria, and observed African life as basic and primitive under dictatorship, with aid from UNICEF and US programs. The Walkers plan to resume Dr Walker’s medical practice and build a home, noting the value of their two-year mission and the lasting impressions of freedom and spiritual growth.
