Two Rittman Boys Return From Buckeye Boys State
Two Rittman youths Edmund Poholski and John Benek both 17 returned Sunday after 15 days at the 15th Annual Buckeye Boys State at Camp Perry. The event sponsored by the American Legion of Ohio trains 905 high school juniors in simulated government with each boy holding an office. Poholski served as councilman and health commissioner while Benek was with the State Patrol. Poholski was sponsored by the local Legion post and Benek by the Rittman Rotary Club with expenses covered by their sponsoring organizations.

Board to sell old North Main school building
The Board of Education warned at Monday’s meeting that if no council or civic group acts to dispose of or find use for the old North Main street school by the next meeting, it will move to sell the building at public auction. The vandalized site drew attention as July 4th disrupted activities. a July 10 meeting at 8 p.m. in North Street school was announced with suggestions including a Boy Scout meeting place recreation center or potential relocation for the public library.
