Bureau official Harley H Miller cited a statewide decline of more than eight million dollars in jobless benefits for the first five months of 1943 versus 1942, with 1,015,098 for 1943 and over 9,250,000 in 1942. The new pay as you go withholding starts July 1 affecting weekly pay. Exemptions: singles $12, married $24, $6 per dependent. Harrison Vicars Dies Here Monday At 68
Harrison Vicars, 68, died Tuesday morning after a heart attack at his home. Surviving are his widow Myrtle and children Mrs William Smith of Rittman, Mrs Arnold Bellamy of Wadsworth, Mrs Davis Borders of Gallon, Douglas, Joe, and Jampa of Rittman. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the family home, then body shipped to Fort Day, W. Va., by Ebert Funeral home for burial. Rev W. F Echols of the First Baptist church conducted the service.
