Five cases heard by Mayor Ritter's police court
George Wm Mayer of Rittman was fined 50 dollars for assault and battery against his wife with 40 dollars suspended and placed on one year probation. Jim Lamber of Rittman paid 25 dollars fine and costs for a similar charge. W Gene Moyer of Rittman faced assault and battery against Edgar Wallace, fined 50 dollars and costs and sentenced to 25 days in jail. Doylestown Welcomes New Fire Truck With Victory Grin
Doylestown received a new 500 gallon capacity Chevrolet fire engine on a Wednesday evening, June 15. Chief Carl Whitman drove the vehicle, praised for its 12 minute dual streams, 200 gallon portable pump, inhalator, respirator, light plant, stretcher, 1800 feet of hose, and $8650 price. The town funded the purchase via a special tax levy, marking the third unit for the department since its 1922 founding.

City Demonstrates DDT Spraying For Mosquito Control
