The Ritiman Church Council sponsors a closing program by Vacation Church School at the Presbyterian church Friday at 7 30. The event features memory work exercises songs poems and a work demonstration from three weeks of study. Children are reported to be making splendid progress in Bible scrapbooks and notebooks. A picnic for primary and younger children Thursday at the primary school and for junior and intermediate at Rittman Central Park precedes the program. Public invitation extended.

A major highway improvement near Route 94 south of Rittman completed this week rebuilt the B and O railroad crossing at 8 Main St. About 40 workers used two days to remove old rails and ties and install solid rails with smooth asphalt and new cross walks. Traffic was diverted east to Salt St to Shook Lumber yard during construction. Depot painting is planned for next week.

Ritttman's public recreation program moves toward efficiency with James Kitts of Sterling road, a senor at Rittman High School, appointed as supervisor next term. Salary is 50 dollars a month. Kitts is in summer school five weeks, already showing good results. The tennis courts are in fair condition and the ball field has been dragged and drained. The village street department under Wayn Kurytz did much of this work. Electric flood lights will be on tonight for night play. The board plans further recreation at the big field on B. Ohio Ave with a 400 dollar fund.

Boyd Miller resigned from the board of education citing irregular attendance to pursue other duties. A successor will likely be named at the July 7 meeting. The board approved staffing changes in the industrial arts department and a junior high art teacher Miss Laurabelle Mooney left for Bowling Green with a raise. New lights and summer repairs were planned along with hiring janitors. Ida Biddle 72 Dies at Home in Rittman
Mrs. Ida Biddle aged 72 died Monday morning at her home in Rittman after an illness of hemic poisoning. Funeral was held Wednesday at the Rittman Church of Christ with Rev W S Goddale and Rev A G Dittman officiating. Burial followed at St. Michael's cemetery near Marshallville. Surviving are her husband Calvin Biddle two daughters Edna Hatfield and Stella Covell one brother J H Bhunder four granddaughters and 40 nieces and nephews. The Biddles lived in Rittman 14 years and in Doylestown five years before returning to Rittman.
