Rittman youths attend public recreation boxing program and prepare for the American Legion Novice Boxing Tournament at Medina High School Stadium starting June 27 at 8p.m. All bouts are three two minute rounds under AAU sanction with a gold trophy for the best fighter. Also noted is the ongoing Rittman church vacation school with 135 pupils enrolled led by Miriam Clippinger and several church-sponsored recreation directors.

Boy Scouts Hold Woods Meet to Prep for Camp Rama
The Boy Scouts of Wadsworth District including Rittman met in Hull's woods near Wadsworth last Friday and Saturday for a tune up session ahead of a future ramperall at Camp Monroe. Troop 403 of Rittman took part. Nine patrols were represented with 43 scouts 2 scouters and eight visitors totaling 63 present.

Frederick Ebbs former music director of the Rittman Benools completed a successful year at Hobart Indiana and received a one year contract extension with a handsome salary increase. He directed 21 entries from about 40 pupils in the national music contests this spring with 15 first place awards four second places and two third ratings.

Eight Churches Plan All Day Sing cooperative event
The First Brethren Church invites the public to an all day sing on Sunday June 15 starting 11:00 am. Class of '41 Returns From Washington Trip
Ritman High School Class of 1941 arrived home at 3.10 a m last Friday tired but happy after a trip to Washington DC. Chaperones were Mr and Mrs E O Hart Miss Frances Clark and Miss Mary Dubatowka There were 35 in the tour with Harvetta Shook Donna Davis and Roselyn Balloon unable to join. Bus trouble at Cumberland Md and Washington Pa caused the late return. Highlights included a boat trip on the Potomac past Mt Vernon and a Senate visit during an appropriation debate aided by Senator Burton and Congressman Thaom with a stop at the FBT rifle range and their headquarters.
