Manager Woulfe of the C. S. W. and G. Ry. Co. bonded $1000 to guarantee completion of the lighting system by September 15 1914. About 54 miles of copper wire weighing over 30000 pounds are in shipment. The contract promises 100 candle power lamps, free current for a slogan sign, free current for Chautauqua lighting, and house wires installed with ten months for payments.
Under the new school law the presidents of the boards of education met Saturday and elected a county board of education of five members with terms of five, four, three, two and one year. Names: J. H. Dickason Wooster five years, D. W. McConnell Rittman four years, Geo. D. Barnard Congress township three years, C. A. Kline Clinton township two years, E. E. Clark Orrville one year. Chairman Dickason announced the first meeting for July 18 to organize the new board.
Voter slate lists Democratic and Republican candidates by township for August elections. Democratic ticket names Greene John W Hunt er J C Kohler C H Karsh Frank E Je Baughman Milton FE R Tanee Chippewa John Wein Nicholas Leiberth Rittman R V Fredrick. Republican ticket names Baughman David F Griffith Greene Addison B Houser Chippewa G W Barkhamer.
Patterson graduates will participate in the commencement at the Presbyterian church next Monday evening. Aima Lutz Ethel Kurtz Ethel M Carahan Edward Wirth Florence Whitman Martha Lance Thomas Long Russell Clapper Ivan Wilson Mida Steele Hazel Huff Harry Liebhty Pansy Cameron Mable Mc Elroy Gladys Milford Evelyn Jones John Faber Nola Blough Emma Blatter Roy Blough Beatrice Fisher will receive diplomas. Rev. John B Hobart will deliver the address and The Rittman Orchestra will provide music. Admission is free.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a Lincoln Chautauqua at Rittman Park from August 15 to 20. Tickets cost 1.50 dollars, while camping is free under the Chamber of Commerce during the event.
Marriage licenses granted to Martin L Tromp of Cleveland and Minnie M Oswald of Wooster, to Alex E Huegele and Mittie M Kerr, both of Rittman.
Council debated many minor items then passed a resolution declaring no poplar trees may be planted in the village and on streets. The electric light franchise was extended 90 days with a $1000 bond. $7.00 in fees noted. adjourned to Wednesday evening.

Nicholas, detailing terms and salaries to show rotation benefits. The author contends one-term pledges and salary increases favor wealthier incumbents and urges rotation in Wayne County.
Tons of express matter have been shipped from Rittman in the past month. At the Ene station Agent Riley notes express matter has been sent out by the car load. Large orders at the Boxboard drive activity with extra men and frequent night shifts. Express bills reach thousands of dollars.
Mrs Anna Kreider, aged 89 years 8 months 25 days, died June 10 1914 at the Medina County farm. Born September 25 1824 in Mt Bethel Pa she moved with her father to Medina Co at age 13. She married Jacob Kreider December 2 1841 and lived in Shinersburg now Rittman before settling on the old homestead for 55 years. Survived by seven sons and four daughters, thirty grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. Funeral at Bethel Church followed by burial in the hillside cemetery.

The Rittman Citizens' Band will perform every alternate Saturday evening in the park. The next concert is set for Saturday night June 27. Last Saturday's concert drew a smaller crowd due to lack of prior announcement. The public is invited to enjoy these gatherings at the park.
A dainty surprise party was held at the home of Councilman F A Smith and wife on Friday afternoon June 12 in honor of Miss Martha Smith who marked nine summers and entered on the dawn of her tenth. Present were Florence Burkholder Margarite Callahan Mildred Baker Mildred Brubaker Dorothy Lilley Gladys Heiks Lucy Rudd Francis Davy Thelma Wolfe Pauline and Irene King Martha Hall. Ice cream and cake were served as guests enjoyed the afternoon.
Entries closed Tuesday June 16 for the corn growing contest while Domestic Science entries stay open until July 1. A. P. San dies in Columbus urges sending entry blanks and notes no entries came from Wayne County in the past week. The Washington trip remains a goal to strive for.
A meeting of the farmers association has been called for Saturday June 20 at 2 PM in the council chamber Rittman over Weiss store in Mongey block. E McConnell president urges organization for the institute.
