Rebuilding No 2 Boxboard Mill Start in Ohio
The Ohio Boxboard Company launches its largest modernization, costing over 2 million dollars, to extend No 2 mill from 280 to 330 feet and install new machines to boost output and employment for more than 1,800 workers. The project began after tearing the old mill, with roof work, dryer roll upgrades, and new controls and components already in place. George C. Ehemann oversaw planning, with Al Shetler directing construction and Charles Dunn supervising presses. continuation noted on page 26.

Children Seek Place To Play In Scout Valley
Mayor Lewis Hoover met about 45 children from the Fourth and Fifth Street area who asked for a space to play ball after being driven from vacant lots and streets. Earl Franks and Don Brodbeck will study the area between Fourth Street and Fairview Avenue, with Herald Mougey proposing a ball field near a creek that would need severing. A tractor or bulldozer may be used to grade the site.

Rittman Plans Five Day Homecoming Event Schedule
Rittman Home-coming will span five days from August 30 to September 3. A 13 club committee met at city hall to form an executive panel and subcommittees. Net receipts will fund civic projects, starting with 2000 to retire the American Legion mortgage. Further funds go to civic improvements.
